Bummed

I really want to run. When I rest a day I feel like shit. I get this sick feeling in my stomach-like a feeling of disappointment and anxiousness...but I need to rest today...I'm tired and I have a lot to do around here and it is HOT...it is 80 degrees and 11:30PM with high humidity-it's at 71%...it's still better than last summer though...

I changed up my running schedule...the only difference is I'm making Saturday my rest day for the next three weeks. Other than that it is the same and I'm clocking the same amount of mileage...soon I will be running 6-8 miles. I can't wait! I have never ran 8-straight-miles! I'm really stoked for that run. It will be a trail run...

I know the feeling all too well. Once you get the running bug, two days off from running feels like a crisis - even when you know the rest is good for you. The elites out there only take off one or two days per month!

It'll be such an awesome feeling when you can move your mileage up so that your short runs are what your long runs used to be. And by experiencing the longer runs, you'll become more familiar with the mental aspects of distance running and it will change your approach to life because long runs are the perfect analogy for life.

Today I decided to test my foot. I would go out for a slow run and stop and turn around if it started to hurt too much. Although at times it was uncomfortable, it wasn't too painful and I got in 16.5 miles. I would've done even more, but for some reason my gut wasn't cooperating. I'm hoping this means I'm over my injury. I want to do a 30 mile long run soon!
