Three runs...8.8 - 8.9 - 8.11...

I haven't been keeping up with this...
I'm sure that I am not remembering some mileage; Friday night, 8.8, I went out when the Sun was going down-I planned to do 8 miles but only did 6.5 miles. Most of that run I did in complete darkness on the wooden trail. I was completely blind for 3-4 miles of the run and I came close to falling on my face several times. I sprinted the miles that I did have daylight for. I was in such a bad mood that I could have seriously, if I had the light, finished 6 miles in 20 minutes!
Saturday night, 8.9, I ran 3 miles...it was very late-like 1AM. I was very tired when I did this run...but I did it! This run made me laugh, there I was getting my run on while more than half of the town was getting their drink on!
And then today I did 6 miles. I ran a couple of trails. I started on a cement trail and continued onto the pine trail. I had to pee a lot during this run and my left leg is in a lot of pain. From my groin to my knee. This isn't from running...this leg has always been a problem...I was waiting for it to start giving me shit again...and here it started this weekend.

Alright, I need a shower and I need sleep.

So that crazy beheading shit is all the more reason for y'all to catch a Greyhound up here for the Traditional Ways Gathering next week! You know you wish you could be on that bus to see something like that. Anyway, tell Luke I say what's up.

Nah, I don't have a blog up...yet, and since Jersey I've totally gotten off track with logging my runs. So, a blog is a pretty good idea for that and for paying special attention to injuries. You should be icing that leg after your runs.

This past weekend was nuts. I did 30 on Saturday - a slow, but hilly and painful 30 all on single track trail through the forest. This was the longest I've ever run both distance and time-wise (about 4.5 hours). There were a lot of roots that I tripped over, and after one fall at around mile 25 my legs seized up in absolute pain and wouldn't move. I was laid out in the middle of the woods screaming with absolutely no one around for miles to hear. After a couple minutes I was able to relax, walk a bit and then continue on.

After I was done and splayed out on the grass I was ready to die - I couldn't even imagine doing another 20! I hear that you need to be super careful about sitting down at the aid stations in ultras because chances are it'll be way too hard to get back up.

The next day I was sore as hell, but I decided to just run and see how far I could go. If things felt okay, I would do the 20 the schedule called for. And somehow my body found a good rhythm and I did a slow and steady 20 in about 3hrs on flatter, wider trail. That night my legs hurt so much I could barely sleep, but by morning I felt okay except I could tell the run did a bunch on my immune system and I felt generally worn down.

Somehow my body will adapt to this since this is what most of my weekends will be like until October. Yay. So, as you say, while everyone is getting their drink on, we'll be running our asses off (literally, I'm down to 8% body fat).

Oh and by the way, there's no need to exercise anymore. They made a pill for it. I wish I was only joking

Goddamn...what the fuck. That pill...that's BULLSHIT! How long before they discover it is shit...
I don't believe it. There is NO fucking way! When you exercise there is a lot going on...a pill can't mimic it. I'm not convinced...and yes, my mind is blown. I hate humans! HAHA!

And holy shit Evan!!! You crack me up!!! I'm sitting here thinking, "hmmm...would I get back up after falling and would I continue running...hmmm, yea, probably!!!"
Good thing you didn't break anything!

I would love for you to start a blog just so you would go into more detail about your crazy runs! I can't wait to get to that point. I can't wait to run 10 miles! I'm bummed that my leg is giving me shit, but I have been putting herbs on it...it feels good today. I'm going to run here soon so I'll see how it feels.

And christ, you're down to 8% bodyfat?! That is low, but you're a man so that's awesome...I have taken a good bit of time off from lifting, I don't know why (probably the fucking heat), but I plan to pick the weights back up this week. I need to drop my bodyfat % down to 15%!!! HAHA! That wouldn't be healthy!

Nope, we're not going to make it to Traditional Ways. Maybe next year...you do know we are moving back north this fall right? I can't wait!
And Luke says hey...and we also were discussing how we have seen you every summer since you've lived at TD...hopefully this year won't be a let down (maybe x-mas?)
I would really love to head up your way. I thought we could do it but I'm thinking it isn't going to happen because we are moving and all that shit.
I don't know, anyway, we can chat about that over the phone...

Well, it's time to get my run on. You take it easy on those legs of yours and watch out for those roots! Perhaps the trees were telling you something?!!!

Oh, and, what pace are you aiming for when you do the Ultra?
